Official update is simply impossible. The iQue units have no eShop access, and Pokemon Sun/Moon players on unmodded iQue 3DSXL consoles have been forever stuck without online after the first updates.

With Pokemon it is possible just to install the update on a modded console, since the game update data itself is the same in all regions. As for MK7, the update file would have to be tweaked to each version which would be a complicated process.
Nintendo Hong Kong announces changes in Chinese localization names of Mario Franchise characters:
Donkey Kong 森喜刚 -> 咚奇刚
Peach 桃花 -> 碧姬
Daisy 菊花 -> 黛西
The goal is to have the localized names "pronounce more similar to the original names".

The new names would be use in future releases, with no plans to change the names of existing titles.
Names of other characters may also be modified.

This is the first time Nintendo officially announced a change of localized names in the Chinese language region, with previous changes only analyzed unofficially by gamers.
It is speculated that these changes were announced in preparation for the Mario movie.
