Not surprisingly, the widget does not work with Non-China Switch consoles, so I'm unable to provide further test results.
Features are described to be similar to the international standalone app equivalent.

The Nintendo Switch Online application on the Home Menu is incompatible with Nintendo Accounts from Hong Kong, despite NSO being available for HK Nintendo Account holders.

It's Tencent's own streaming service (similar to YouTube/Netflix), but unlike the Switch release of YouTube, Tencent's video app is just an HTML5 browser.

Games with Title IDs unique to Hong Kong will also have their data missing from the cloud save page.
(Games that share the same Title ID with Hong Kong and any other eShop region are properly displayed).
