Not just the potential, but because "harmful information" has already spreaded. Multiple Hong Kong activists have shown off their slogans in-game, while one Super Mario Maker 2 level titled called out Xi Jingping as the "last emperor". The CCP definitely did not like such acts.

Due to the nature of limited printing, some of those rarer physical games aren't that likely to make their way to a Chinese store. Most Switch in China buy their physical copies online anyway so the few existing copies might have already been sold online.

Despite all 3 titles in Super Mario 3D All-Stars have been known to be fully localized in Simplified Chinese, the collection did not include any of the China builds and only offers Chinese translation in the game menu.

All 3 Physical/Digital Switch games in China had their physical releases delayed to nearly a month after their digital releases. China will screen every game released officially in that market (an extremely long process and what really delays releases there).

An approved game carries approval IDs which would be hardcoded into the software itself, so devs could not compile the final product until their game were approved.
It takes much more time to print the final build to cartridges in a factor than to simply upload it to the server.

The Original Soundtrack player in Super Mario All-Stars Collection will display English track names when running Chinese menu.

This was somewhat more understandable than the games not having Chinese since the OST CDs were never released in Chinese prior.

It was mostly English in the context of Switch consoles, but Nintendo of Hong Kong uses Japanese character/game names for untranslated ones.
Some (Chinese audience) reacted to this information said they preferred Japanese song names though.

Good question. “超级马力欧 太阳之光“ was previously used in both Mario Odyssey and the Shield release so it was probably an older official translation. However they ditched it for 超级马力欧阳光 with this title.

Officially, a lot of the iQue legacies have been neglected, from minimal aspects like SSB Ultimate spirit names to straight out saying ACNH is the first AC game in Chinese.

Taiwan/Hong Kong doesn't always get their dedicated CHT cartridge, but at least it's EUR for 6+/7+ games so they wouldn't have to deal with a rating symbol on the cart.

Probably because SMG Korean was translated by 100% Nintendo of Korea. iQue before the iQue Wii project died was a largely independent company.

That is correct. Only 4 of all Nintendo Switch first-party titles have official China (PRC) releases. Many games, including this title, simply includes Simplified Chinese in it's global release, where Chinese censorships are avoided.

That is very true. The iQue Player build is heavily built off the Shindou edition, as indicated by same voice clips and patched BLJs. However no native rumble support was included as the iQue Player hardware itself does not have rumble capabilities.

If SM3DAS ported Nvidia Shield controls for Surfing and Ball rolling it would be a lot less appalling.

The Nvidia Switch build uses the R stick to move the cursor (Menu and Starbits), and L(LB/L1) to speed up cursor movement. It isn't a very comfortable control but it was necessary because Nvidia Shield doesn't have motion controls.

Depends on your regional settings. The SNES online will display colored button if the console (not Nintendo account) region is Europe and purple if Americas. Unsure about other regions.

Sunshine was never translated by iQue because iQue Gamecube was long cancelled before conception. Galaxy on the other hand, was fully translated by iQue.

Sadly it was so long ago that they didn't exactly remember who translated the "go to hell" phrase.
