I doubt so. It's probably the only one they've managed to get past government approval at this point. However, NSMBUDX is the closest Switch title to the original Super Mario Bros., which is what most non-gamers think of when they think of Mario.

No, and most likely never. I believe Chinese regulations requie games to be fully translated for official releases in China, and it's very troublesome to translate NES/SNES titles to a language that requires a large font.

My guess is that the shelves are reserved for the Physical releases of Chinese titles, but since there's none of them at the moment they filled it with import titles to make it look not so empty.

Nintendo has previously bundled its Chinese language option with official Chinese releases (since 2003) and that did not work well for them since most Chinese gamers imported consoles (especially for the 3DS). As a result they started putting Chinese support in foreign versions.

My guess is that as long as the game carts are identical to the HK version in data, they should be eligible.
That would include most global first party releases, the JP version of XC2, the Western version of Octopath Traveler, etc.

Certain games listed on the Hong Kong Nintendo eShop cannot be purchased on console and can only be obtained digitally from the website storefront.

I personally don't think so. Even if Nintendo does that, it will do zero good to pushing Chinese people to play the Tencent Switch as most gamers in China read Traditional Chinese well. As of now, every game until Xenoblade Chronicles is confirmed to have both S and T overseas.

They do not have their own logo. Any Nintendo Switch material officially released in China carry the logos of both companies.

Import titles are now priced for sale.
They cost much more than prices online (Taobao).
96 games published and/or developed by Nintendo/iQue were released in the past decade with Chinese language support.
(29 DSiWare, 15 3DS, 8 Wii/Shield, 8 iOS/Android, and 37 Switch)
52 of them were released in/after 2016, and only 37 of them were officially released in China.

I'm not sure about developing, but they're definitely localizing the games, as indicated in the credits.
Since iQue is part of Nintendo right now (100% Nintendo-owned subsidiary) it's possible that Nintendo could give them tasks beyond localization.

In the Chinese version of Paper Mario: Sticker Star, the Windmill code in Hither Thither Hill was 9958 instead of 4123.
The Green Toad's hint in the Chinese version is "救救我吧" (Literally "Help me"), which is similar in pronunciation with 9958 in both Mandarin and Cantonese.

In a way, yes. The Mainland China Switch cannot access Nintendo Switch online nor non-China eShops (including HK). It does play import game cartridges but console language is locked to S. Chinese.

The HK and JP Switches are identical firmware-wise with all European and American Switch consoles. (Some say there's a minor hardware difference on 5G channels)
You can access any country's eShop as long as you have an account in that country.

In one authorized retailer AFAIK, not sure if that applies to all authorized dealers.
Plus, those retailers sell games in prices much higher than online, which the Chinese were used to buying Switch games from.
