Not exactly, the "Painting" part seems to be added only for Vividra and Drawcia. For most other Kirby characters it's usually the phonetic values with the word choice reflecting the character's features.

I have seen Nintendo fans in China thinking about the same thing (from the opposite point of view, apparently). It's not that Nintendo has never done anything in the past that could anger the state, but rather the lack of popularity of the company facilitated quick die downs.

The game remove/retrieval services could get the game files from the servers or from a local cache directory, so you could retrieve your games even when you're completely offline.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Chinese version unboxing (source unknown)
The cartridge has the Serial "LA -H-AURVF-EUR" so it's technically a repackaged European version, yet this is the only release to have Chinese language support.

Nintendo Hong Kong's store page (https://store.nintendo.com.hk/70010000020986) shows that the digital Chinese version is 23.6 GB, which is a little smaller than the releases in other regions.
The store page also mentions support for FR/DE/IT/ES, which contradicts the EN/ZH on the physical cover.

No. iQue has long been dysfunctional as a distributor for Nintendo products in China.
(Last iQue release was in 2012) iQue however, still handles the Chinese localization work for first and second party titles.
