It turns out that this feature was merely blocked away, as the text for the 3DS-Wii connection remained in the text.
@jhynjhiruu_2 replaced the text in the European 3DS Mii maker with the iQue one, and here are the results. Both the Mii Channel and Maker text refer to "iQue DS".

Possibly because the term "Odyssey" was originally a special term so it was simply transliterated. 奥德赛 seems to be the only translation for the English word AFAIK.

1. The Mainland China edition will feature a more thorough translation:
The English Text for "New Record!" and "You Win!" in the current S. Chinese option have been changed to their Chinese counterparts, "新的记录！" and "你方获胜！" respectively.

2. In the title menu. The online mode was changed from "互联网" (Internet) to "网络联机" (Online Multiplayer). The "OK" button has been changed to "确定" (Confirm) and the Nintendo Labo setting is missing.

3. The Online Multiplayer menu, shockingly, does not feature worldwide multiplayer: Only Regional, Friends & Rivals, and Tournament options were given.
What was even more confusing is that the trailer specifically advertised "Playing with players AROUND THE WORLD".

King Boo's name and the Boo item's name were altered. Although Boo's name change in Chinese actually debuted in Mario Tennis Aces, Nintendo never bothered updating the existing MK8D translation with the new name.
