Random: University Biology instructor used Pokemon to introduce evolution, but was not very effective as his students don't play Pokemon.

"I had a great time making those slides, but when I lectured it was so awkward. The 2000s kids don't play any Pokemon so they don't get it. "

Kanbei is the only CO whose design in the Chinese prototype differs from his design in the west.
His beard and mustache were shaved off, his uniform was edited, and his Katana was removed.

This was probably done to avoid connotation to the Japanese invaders in China during WWII.

 Mon Mar 25 19:22:37 +0000 2019

Replying to @chinesenintendo

In the international version, Orange Star fought "Kanbei's Imperial Forces".
In China, Red Star(红星军)fought "Kanbei Special Forces" (坎贝尔特种部队).

Like the WWII Japanese officer uniform, imperialism has negative connotations and this could explain the change.
